About the edit

An evolving edit of objects for everyday life, chosen for their character and how they live together.

A chain, a fold, a knot, a reflective surface. The shelf brings familiar objects into a conversation about shape, material and scale. Select any object to explore its design, dimensions and source.

A styling study exploring objects, forms and relationships, and the stories an arrangement can tell.

The Shelf Wars compass pyramid is a proposed custom engraving on a stock crystal blank. The engraved version has not been produced or made available for purchase.

Shopping & links

THE SHELF WARS is an editorial collection. Shopping links take you to the maker or retailer, where you can check current prices, availability, shipping and returns before buying. Purchases, payment and customer service are handled by that retailer.

Currently, the shopping links are regular retailer links. THE SHELF WARS does not receive a commission from them. If affiliate links are introduced, the affected product details will clearly state that we earn a commission when you buy through that link, at no extra cost to you.

Objects are selected for the collection’s visual and design point of view. Eligibility for a future affiliate program does not imply that a partnership is already approved.

Plants, candles, paper towels and other styling accessories are separate from the featured object unless its listing says otherwise. The Räder retailer link is for a pair of vases; the shelf shows one. The pyramid link is for the unengraved crystal blank.

Listings can change. Confirm the size, color and included items on the retailer’s page. The shelf’s visual scale does not replace product measurements.

Privacy

This version of the site has no visitor accounts, contact forms, checkout, newsletter signup, advertising pixels or analytics scripts added by THE SHELF WARS. Selecting an object changes the page’s URL fragment to let you return to its details; the site does not save those selections in browser storage.

If you email THE SHELF WARS, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond to your message. Avoid sending payment details or other sensitive information. Our mailbox provider, Microsoft Outlook, also processes messages under its own privacy practices.

The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites. The hosting provider may process technical information needed to serve and secure the site. This notice describes the THE SHELF WARS page itself and does not replace the provider’s privacy information.

When you follow a retailer link, you leave this site. The retailer and any future affiliate tracking provider apply their own privacy and cookie practices.
